Buckwheat

Buckwheat is part of the pseudocereals family along with quinoa & amaranth. Despite its name, buckwheat is not related to wheat & there for is naturally gluten-free. Buckwheat has become popular amongst the health community due to its high mineral & antioxidant content including manganese, copper, magnesium, iron & phosphorus as well as plant compounds including rutin, quercetin, vitexin & d-chiro-inositol. Health benefits of buckwheat include improved blood sugar control & heart health. Buckwheat also contains a decent amount of fibre which your body is unable to digest as well as resident starch which supports colon health.
